Frontier Ranch 2024 Update

Friends of Frontier Ranch –

We had a great summer here at the Ranch and hope the Lord met you this summer in new and surprising ways. While hibernated, we have had amazing opportunities to see the Lord work in the lives of so many folks who have stepped foot on this special and blessed piece of land.

This summer we were grateful to have friends from all over the country be able to enjoy God’s Creation and utilize the lodges here at camp. There have been over 50 different guest groups, totaling more than 1,400 guest days on camp since May! In addition to folks staying at camp, we have had the privilege of hosting several work trips, local Young Life work days to help offset the cost of camp trips and several trainings for a local partner in ministry!

The dedicated staff at camp have been busy hosting guests, as well as caring for the facilities here at camp. The past several months have been busy with projects involving, staining and protecting the exteriors of the log structures, rebuilding patios and decks at the lodges still in use, shaping and maintaining roadways and refreshing and caring for the interiors of the lodges to best serve guests. We always strive for top notch hospitality, preparing a place where folks feel welcome and loved.

Due to many generous gifts, we have received the funds necessary to start the engineering, planning and permitting for several aspects of the Rebuild Campaign. This engineering and permitting stage of the water and wastewater projects is one of the longest stages and we are excited that we are already 8 months into the process that should take us to early summer of 2025. In addition to the projects involving potable water and wastewater, we have engaged several other contractors who are actively working on the planning and designing of our electrical system upgrades as well as our stormwater control projects.

Late this year, we hope to kick off a formal fundraising campaign. 2024 has been rich with prayers, conversations and discernment as Mission Leadership utilizes feedback from our feasibility study. The next step is to move forward in forming the Committee to spearhead the funding of the Restoration and Rebuilding of Frontier Ranch. Although a formal campaign is not yet in place, there continues to be a lot of interest in learning about Frontier Ranch. During the past three months, over 250 people attended camp tours. These tours provided people the opportunity to hear about the rich history of Frontier Ranch, the philosophy of YL camping, what the Lord has done, the rebuild and restoration plans, and how they can be involved!

We are looking forward to a great school season and are very thankful for this past fantastic summer season. If you are interested in coming to stay at Frontier, know that we would love to have you! There are two lodges available year-round for your next family reunion, staff overnight, church small group, etc.. If coming to serve and help is more your style, we are hosting work trips year-round where folks of all ages can come serve to upkeep this beautiful place. If you are interested in coming to stay, relax, play or work, we would love to hear from you!

Check out the opportunities to come, serve, work and complete a project!

Frontier Ranch has been committed to caring for the environment and being good neighbors since Young Life acquired it nearly 75 years ago. As part of that commitment, we are in the midst of a multi-year initiative to update and modernize much of our infrastructure. We are working closely with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to ensure we are meeting strict water-quality standards. They have been a great leader in this effort, and we will continue to abide by their guidance to ensure we meet and exceed high standards of environmental care.
