Camp Development

Young Life has been faithfully introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith for 75 years! Camping at Frontier Ranch has been a strategic part of that mission since 1951. Last summer alone, more than 3,600 teenagers experienced the "best week of their lives" at this unique camp in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The Young Life camp program involves high adventure, humor, excellent facilities, leaders investing in kids, and a winsome proclamation of the Gospel. The staff serves in a variety of capacities at camp from speaking to housekeeping, all in an effort to prepare an environment for kids to encounter Jesus.

Coming to Frontier Ranch in 2018!

In the six decades of operation, nearly all of the facilities at Frontier Ranch have been upgraded or rebuilt with the exception of a few staff cabins. Replacing facilities built in the 1920's, this new Lodge will meet the needs of modern accommodations consistent with Young Life standards for staff families serving at Frontier.

The ten bedrooms in this lodge will replace three separate outdated cabins and provide a much needed space increase for families. The great room and kitchen will provide a place for the entire Assigned Team to gather. Additionally, this facility will generate revenue during the school season as a group rental to help defer costs for summer campers.

Camp Development Principles

After construction is complete, Young Life camps are financially self-sufficient. All operational expenses, maintenance, administrative costs and funded depreciation are paid from camp revenue generated by the camper fee. Only major capital projects require fundraising after the initial purchase or construction.

We only grow as thoughtful and generous gifts allow. Young Life camps have a long-standing policy to first raise the funds and then to develop new projects, facilities and amenities.

This is so the camp fee that summer and school season guests pay is minimized to reflect true operating costs. This practice also allows us to develop new projects to a standard of excellence.
